Berridge Manufacturing specializes in the research, development and production of architectural sheet metal products. Founded in 1970, the company has spent more than five decades solving the technical challenges of metal roofing and siding, building the most comprehensive line of architectural metal products in the industry along the way. A Legacy Of Innovation
That expertise traces back to founder Jack Berridge, the engineer who started the company in Houston in 1970 with a simple vision: find a need and fill it with creatively designed, quality products at competitive prices. He found that need fast. In 1971, he designed and began production of the Tee-Panel, a pioneering standing seam roofing system roll-formed from coil in continuous lengths from eave to ridge, eliminating the horizontal splices that were a major source of leaks. He kept refining it and, in 1983, introduced a snap-on seam with a vinyl weatherseal insert, patented in 1987, that produced a completely watertight seam assembly regardless of the amount and direction of water flow. The same problem-solving instinct produced the Model SS-14 Portable Roll Former, the industry’s first portable machine capable of fabricating both straight and curved standing seam panels at the job site. Today, more than 10 panel profiles, including standing-seam, soffit and wall panels, may be formed using Berridge portable roll formers, giving contractors direct control over the production process. In 2016, Jack Berridge was inducted into the Metal Construction Hall of Fame for more than 50 years of influence on the metal construction industry, and the business he built remains family-owned, carrying that legacy of quality and innovation into future generations.Manufacturing Built On That Foundation
The engineering-first mindset extends to how every product is made. Berridge controls the process from bare steel coil to finished product: highly specialized equipment converts large Galvalume and galvanized steel coils into pretreated, prefinished, fabricated architectural sheet metal products. In-house capabilities include a continuous coil coating line, slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, roll formers, mechanical and hydraulic press brakes, punch presses, stamping and bending fixtures and a variety of special dies. A multimillion-dollar modernization of the paint line ensures consistent finish quality for decades to come.
