Berridge Manufacturing specializes in the research, development, and production of architectural sheet metal products. Founded in 1970, the company has spent more than five decades solving the technical challenges of metal roofing and siding, building the most comprehensive line of architectural metal products in the industry along the way. That line spans Standing Seam Systems, Wall, Soffit, Ceiling and Fascia Panel Systems, reconstructive building products for historical restoration, and a complete offering of residential roofing and siding products.

Our History
Berridge Manufacturing Company was founded in 1970 by Jack Berridge who was, even then, considered to be one of the pioneers of the architectural metal panel industry. Mr. Berridge is a 1959 graduate of California Polytechnic State University and after working for Kaiser Aluminum, was a startup partner in Architectural Engineered Products (now known as AEP/Span).
During the early years, Berridge Manufacturing Company manufactured metal panels and shingles for the architect-specified market. In 1986 the company made history by introducing the first portable roll former machine capable of fabricating both straight and curved standing seam panels at the job site. The Berridge Model SS-14 Portable Roll Former, together with pre-finished steel coil material gave the roofing and sheet metal contractor unprecedented control over the production process and enabled the fabrication of continuous straight or curved barrel vault panels with no end lap splices or fastener penetrations.
Jack Berridge carved out a reputation for being a prolific innovator of architectural metal roofing products. The unique patented Berridge Vinyl Weatherseal is still without equal in the metal roofing industry. Many products marketed today were originally developed and introduced by Berridge Manufacturing Company in the early 1970’s to mid-1980’s. A few years later, Berridge again made history by owning and operating its own continuous coil coating paint line. This enables Berridge to provide its roofing and sheet metal contractor customers with single-source service for both roll forming equipment and coil and other accessories.
Today, Berridge fabricates, markets and services its own line of more than ten precision-tolerance portable roll forming machines which it leases or sells to its network of Berridge Licensees. The Berridge Licensee Program was established in 1993 and has now grown to nearly three hundred Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors nationwide who own or long-term lease one or more Berridge Portable Roll Formers and who receive material discounts and support from Berridge.
50 Years of Distinction
John Albert “Jack” Berridge was born on March 28th, 1928 in Atchison, Kansas, the youngest of three sons of Guy Harold and Alberta Theresa Koebrich Berridge. While he entered the world at a tempestuous time, a year before the stock market crash that triggered the Great Depression, he grew up in a loving, supportive, small-town atmosphere, nurtured but the security of an extended family. Jack’s fearlessness against risk and importance of values served him well throughout his life as he navigated the cultural shift between small-town Kansas and edgy Southern California during his teen years; to pursuing possible careers as a race car driver and U.S. Air Force pilot; to earning an engineering degree at a time when technology, innovation, and creativity were changing the face of America; and to developing a successful international business that continues to deliver the finest in architecturally engineered products.
A Legacy Of Innovation
That expertise traces back to founder Jack Berridge, the engineer who started the company in Houston in 1970 with a simple vision: find a need and fill it with creatively designed, quality products at competitive prices. He found that need fast. In 1971, he designed and began production of the Tee-Panel, a pioneering standing seam roofing system roll-formed from coil in continuous lengths from eave to ridge, eliminating the horizontal splices that were a major source of leaks. He kept refining it and, in 1983, introduced a snap-on seam with a vinyl weatherseal insert, patented in 1987, that produced a completely watertight seam assembly regardless of the amount and direction of water flow.
The same problem-solving instinct produced the Model SS-14 Portable Roll Former, the industry's first portable machine capable of fabricating both straight and curved standing seam panels at the job site. Today, more than 10 panel profiles, including standing-seam, soffit and wall panels, may be formed using Berridge portable roll formers, giving contractors direct control over the production process. In 2016, Jack Berridge was inducted into the Metal Construction Hall of Fame for more than 50 years of influence on the metal construction industry, and the business he built remains family-owned, carrying that legacy of quality and innovation into future generations.
Manufacturing Built On That Foundation
The engineering-first mindset extends to how every product is made. Berridge controls the process from bare steel coil to finished product: highly specialized equipment converts large Galvalume and galvanized steel coils into pretreated, prefinished, fabricated architectural sheet metal products. In-house capabilities include a continuous coil coating line, slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, roll formers, mechanical and hydraulic press brakes, punch presses, stamping and bending fixtures and a variety of special dies. A multimillion-dollar modernization of the paint line ensures consistent finish quality for decades to come. Because the entire production chain stays in-house, customers get top-quality products at competitive prices with prompt delivery.

Manufacturing strength only matters if customers can access it. A network of branches across the U.S. provides ready availability of 24-gauge painted Flat Sheets in all standard colors and Slit Coil in popular widths and colors, and distribution centers offer easy-to-operate portable roll formers for daily or weekly leases. Behind the products, dedicated architectural and technical teams support architects, contractors and building owners from specification through project completion.
