heet Metal Masters, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Billy and Vivian Cockrell and for the past nine and a half years the company has specialized in architectural metal roofing, metal soffit, metal wall panels, metal retrofit and metal structures. Billy and Vivian credit their growth and success to teamwork and safety awareness. Sheet Metal Masters’ commitment to safety lead to their being awarded the "Sustained Superior Safety Performance Award" from the Mobile, AL District/South Atlantic Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the 4th quarter of 2002. Much of Sheet Metal Masters’ work is done on military bases throughout the Florida panhandle region, and their jobsite practices are required to meet high safety and quality standards. The company’s growth has come from two areas of specialization: Architectural Standing Seam Roofing and Light Gage Metal Retrofit Framing/Roofing. In both of these areas, Sheet Metal Masters’ relationship with Berridge Manufacturing Company as a Licensee has provided them with a quality product, supported by technical assistance and material and performance warranty programs: "Since our main goal is to provide the highest quality products, it makes perfect sense to use Berridge products -- for example, Berridge’s Vantage Point Retrofit System is the ‘Cadillac’ of all Retrofit Systems" explains Billy and Vivian Cockrell. Today, Sheet Metal Masters, Inc. has four installation crews with approximately twenty-five employees. Their sheet metal fabrication shop is equipped with a computer-operated Auto Brake, Slitters, High Lift Forklifts and a Berridge Model SP-21X Zee-Lock Portable Roll Former which fabricates the structural double or single-lock Berridge Zee-Lock Standing Seam Roof Panel in continuous lengths.
