Cleburne Sheet Metal began its relationship with Berridge Manufacturing Company in the summer of 1987 when they purchased a Berridge Model SS-14 Tee-Panel portable standing seam roof panel roll former. At the time, Cleburne had only five employees and had only been in business for one year. Since then, the architectural metal standing seam industry has grown rapidly and Cleburne Sheet Metal’s growth has been even faster. Today, Cleburne Sheet metal has over ninety employees and is one of the largest metal roofing contractors in the United States. In November 2003, Metal Construction News magazine named Cleburne Sheet Metal as their "Top Metal Roofer" for the second consecutive year.

A key factor in Cleburne’s growth was the opening of a new branch in Buda, Texas, just south of Austin, Texas. "The Buda location was chosen for its geographic proximity to the rapidly growing central Texas markets of Austin, San Marcos and San Antonio", explains Cleburne’s president, Fred Couch. Cleburne owns and operates Berridge portable roll-forming equipment to manufacture Cee-Lock, Zee-Lock, Curved Zee-Lock, Tee-Panel, Curved Tee-Panel, High-Seam Tee-Panel, Curved High-Seam Tee-Panel and Thin Line soffit and wall panel in the new Buda Facility.

"The ability to provide portable rollforming to our clients is a value beyond reasonable measure: without it Cleburne Sheet Metal, in all likelihood, would not exist today!"

Fred Couch cites the company’s ability to manufacture its own architectural metal panel products at its factory or on location using its Berridge rollformers as a key to the company’s success: "The ability to provide portable rollforming to our clients is a value beyond reasonable measure: without it Cleburne Sheet Metal, in all likelihood, would not exist today!"
