S HW Group is one of the leading educational architectural, engineering, and planning firms in the nation. The firm’s expertise has been drawn upon by clients and other design professionals throughout the United States, and beyond the U.S. borders. Further, BD World Architecture ranked SHW 3rd worldwide among firms focused on educational design in 2008.Dedicated solely to the design of innovative learning environments, SHW Group takes pride in designing the best schools the nation has to offer its children. Projects, many award-winning, have included a wide variety of facilities such as K-12 and university level educational facilities, fine arts complexes, maintenance and transportation facilities, multi-story administrative office buildings, technology, career and learning centers, and a variety of stadiums and natatoriums. These projects have varied in size and complexity, ranging from small additions and renovations to new multi-million dollar educational super-developments. Regardless of project size, all clients receive the same high level of quality and customer service for which the firm has become known. This reputation is the foundation upon which the firm has achieved a level of repeat business that accounts for more than 70 percent of the firm’s revenue, a true testament to their commitment to excellent client service. Sixty-three years ago the firm began with half a dozen architects in a small office in Harlingen, Texas. SHW has grown to nearly 400 employees and seven studios nationwide. Malvern Elementary School in the McKinney ISD, shown on this page, and Shadow Ridge Middle School in the Lewisville ISD, are examples of large educational projects designed by SHW Group's North Texas office using "green", sustainable metal roofing and siding projects.
