Turner Partners Architecture, LP traces its origin to the summer of 1984, when Greg Turner left the world of corporate practice to found R. G. Turner Architects in Houston. The intervening two decades have seen consistent and manageable growth as the firm focused on corporate, religious, and educational projects.

Between 1996 and 2003 the firm was known as Turner & Bair Architects, reflecting the absorption of R. S. Bair & Associates in a move that broadened the firm’s institutional client base to include educational and financial facilities.

In 2004, the firm combined with SDT Architects, thus Turner Partners Architecture, LP was born – a new firm launched from an established base. Turner Partners Architecture was selected as the moniker for the new firm in order to reflect its growth and expanding capabilities while maintaining the firm’s established name and history.

Today, more than half Turner Partners’ work is worship facilities with the balance being learning and corporate projects. The work ethic and company culture at the firm stress initiative and self reliance. Regarding choice of material components in design, Greg Turner states, "The projects we design for our clients stress performance as well as appearance". One way this philosophy is reflected is in Turner Partners’ use of architectural metal roofing in many of its high profile projects where both appearance and life cycle cost efficiency are of utmost importance.
